The fan-shaped pattern is the giveaway for sprinkler damage in particular. If the film is heaviest low on the pane and spreads upward in an arc, something has been throwing water at that window on a schedule.
Why washing does nothing
This is deposit, not dirt, and detergent does not engage with it
Most people meet this by scrubbing harder, and it changes nothing. Soap moves material resting on a surface. Mineral scale has been laid down onto the surface instead, which is a different problem and needs a different answer.
It also does not stay still. As long as the water keeps landing on the same pane the film keeps thickening, and thicker deposit is more work to take off than thin. Waiting makes the job larger rather than the same.
What removal involves
Working the surface, and testing before committing to it
Removing mineral scale can require polishing and abrasive cleaning rather than washing. That means working the surface itself, with a compound and a pad, which is a slower and more careful process than any kind of window cleaning.
Because it is surface work, it has to be tested before it is committed to. We start on a small area, see how the deposit responds, and go from there. What the glass will do is not something anyone can tell you accurately over the phone, and we would rather say that than guess.
We are not going to tell you on a web page what your glass will look like afterwards. How far a given pane comes back depends on how long the deposit has been there and what it has done to the surface underneath, and anyone quoting a result sight unseen is guessing. Early on, mineral scale is a layer on the pane. Over a long enough period it can begin to attack the surface underneath, leaving it pitted or etched. Those are two different situations, and telling them apart takes looking at the glass, which is why we will not commit to a result over the phone.

Finding the source is half the job. Remove the film and leave the cause running and you are booking the same work again later.
